The new hammock seat is supposed to be standard on the 11 Ultra Limited. If that is in fact the seat I received, I have not been impressed with the ride over the Road Zeppelin I had on the 03. It doesn't bottom out as much as the stock seat, I will give it that much but overall comfort on a 300 mile day has not been there for me. I am glad you found something that works well for you.
The Limiteds do not come with the Hammock seat. Only the CVO Ultra comes with the Hammock, and it is the leather and heated model. Your Ultra came with the standard seat from the factory.
I agree with the OP. I have the heated hammock seat on my 2010 SE Ultra. It really is outstanding for the long haul. I'm not sure if I have the v2.0 or the original Hammock since I just had it replaced under warranty due to some separation near the threads on the nose of the seat. Would they have replaced it with the new Hammock or the original?
I believe the only difference is that the original hammock did not have the hammock design for the passenger seat and the V2 version does. Anyone know a simple way to tell if a hammock seat is the new design or the original?

You'd probably have to take off the seat and see of it has a part number or other markings on the base and then compare with the original poster.
Ok i'll ask - do you have a pic of your sg with the hammock seat? - i would like to see how it melds with the lines of the bike
I'll be honest, I don't think you're going to like the look of the Hammock seat on a SG. In fact, I have a stock SG seat that I use whenever I take the TP off my SE Ultra. Unfortunately the Hammock seat looks like a Lazy Boy perched on the bike without a TP.
You're going to want to see if you like the look of your SG after installing the Hammock seat before making the committment to buy it. I for one, don't like the look without a TP, but love the way it treats my backside.

well I tell ya, I have three seats for my 08, and I dont care how it looks if it comfy, then I'm in... I might have to try this, that would make 4 seats.... this is really getting old... but I got to find one that works!
I bought the SG so I could make it any bike I felt like riding. It's quick with the 103 engine upgrade and if I keep the SG seat and the 4" blacked out shield and lower the shocks it's a good poser bike. With the hard lowers, tour pack, jacked up Progressive 940's and Hammock seat it challenges an Ultra for all day touring. As for looks of the seat, well ...... how ya gonna ride today? For my 1000 miles in 19 hours I would configure the bike as a tourer with a 12" Clearview, tour pack and lazyboy seat. If I was gong to the bar for a few adult beverages the minimalist look fills the bill. If I can pry mama out of her Miata, I put Elvis on the XM and short shift, when leaving the aformentioned adult beverage emporium I spin ZZ Top on the CD and shift at 4900.
So here are some pictures 1. of the Hammock seat, 2. the stock SG seat with it's beetle tail and 3. the cut down and stuffed Sundowner. If you use the passenger grab bars for reference it looks like all three seats sag the same when I'm seated on 'em. Above all else the Hammock is all day comfortable. Sorta like spending the day with an average looking woman who really knows how to treat your body right.
