Default Throttle Cable adjustment???

I just put my 01 Ultra back together after removing the inner fairing to paint it. The bike starts and runs but will not idle. I tried to put the small cable adjusters that are near the end of the cables in the same position but apparently it's not there. i've tried to adjust them at every position but the bike won't idle. My clymer manual says I need a spectrometer or something like that but I never touched anything on the throttle body. The throttle works just fine and is not binding and does not have any play in it.

What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts before I give up and let the dealer fix it? Thanks.

you didn't indicate whether your bike is EFI or carburated...make sure the cables are installed proper - one is the idle cable and the other is the accel cable...if carb, adjust the idle screw until the motor idles properly...also may want to check whether you accidentally changed the fuel/air mixture...hope this helps

Thanks Twistr. I assumed by me saying throttle body everyone would know it's EFI. The cables are installed correctly as far as I can tell.
