Default Fuel Injected throttle cables adjustment

So I've plowed through the FSM and can't find a procedure to adjust the throttle cables on my fuel injected Road King. Everything in the book points to the carb procedure but they aren't the same. Anybody got a home brew procedure for this?

I've adjusted mine as close to the FSM procedure as I think I can get them but I would like to know if someone has a better way of doing it. I didn't have much trouble with the throttle cable but I was really winging it on the idle cable.

I don't think I've ever used the FSM to adjust my cables.

When I adjust mine I take most of the slack out of the throttle cable then adjust the idle cable until the throttle doesn't snap back when opened all the way the let back in some slack until it does.

Then I check it at full right and full left making adjustments as I have to so that I get the throttle to snap back in all three positions.

When the throttle snaps back at center and full right and full left I tighten down the lock nuts and call it good.

That's basically what I did except that while I was adjusting the idle cable I made sure there was some slack in it before I twisted the throttle. I was getting some popping in between gears and I think it was mostly due to the idle cable being just a little too tight. After this morning's ride in to work, the popping is gone.

Even on my carb bike I found that not having a decent amount of slack in the cables could have problems, such as hitting a pothole and involuntarily accelerating, or simply not being able ride smoothly with a passenger. She's Mrs B now, so it worked.....
