Default Throttle/idle cable issue

I just installed the new idle cable. After ward my suspicions proved true. When the old one was on there was a lot of slack in the line. I have almost a 1/2 inch deflection in the line. With this the throttle dosen't snap back. Its like a slow return.I have adjusted the tension and still the same.

If you look at this clip it'll show what I am saying. Slow throttle return and idle cable slack.

If you take the cable off the carb does the carb snap back?
Are any of your cables in a bind?

Actually your throttle should snap back.
Sounds like you don't have it adjusted right.

I've adjusted it tighter and it won't move. Looser don't do nothing. Still it don't explain why I have slack in the idle cable.

It's a balance between the 2 cables.
One might have to be looser and the other tighter.

Just play with it for a while.

You must have a little play in both cables, or you will have your exact problem.

You have already checked the other cable, it moves nice and free when disconnected from the carburetor, right?

Step back and do something else for a while before trying again.

I fought mine for 2 days once for the same problem before I realized my throttle lock was partially engaged.
