Don't confuse CCP (cold cranking pressure) with CR (compression ratios). The SE255 cannot handle an increase in CR because of the high CCP (app. 205). Many are experiencing hard starts when hot in the 103" mainly because of the CCP of these cams. My CCP is 180 with a CR of 10.5:1 and even with high lift cams, turns over as easily as stock. I generally only use my compression releases when I have a really hot motor.

You want TORQUE, think high compression.

You can calculate the change in CR with the Cometic head gaskets using the calculator on Bigboyz website:

For the couple of tenths or so in static CR gained, it wouldn't be worth the effort to me.
