My local dealer gets 4 hours for a Road Glide, don't know why a batwing would be any longer, if anything maybe shorter. Their rate is $79 per. Not a bad deal as I can get 20% off when I use my HOG discount on the labor!
DIY, I just did mine and it wasn't to bad at all. The wiring harness isn't to hard to figure out either. It's really easy and allows you to become one with your bike. LOL.... Oh and you CAN swap the Air wire and fuel quanitiy wire very easily Don't ask me how I know...
Local dealer gets 3 hours for an inner. I took me probably an hour or two longer as I was just taking my time. Not hard to do, but it is one of those things that you need to take your time and pay attention.
where do you live? bring a 12 pack of budlight and we will put it on! thats my labor rate!rebulid a carborator is 2- 30 packs , Bike detail is a 30 pack! just so you know my labor rates!
I have done twice it doesn't require whole lot skill but patience and if possible helping hands makes real easier. On TBW model even little more easier.Take some pics so you can follow the flow of wiring to re install actually every thing is plug n play very hard to go wrong.
I got everything disassembled, just waiting for the inner to get here ...any tips, do, don't do when installing it? My main concern is scratching or chipping it, everything else is pretty straightforward.
Get a second pair of hands to help you out, its alot better when you have someone holding things in place on install. Did 2 installs and removals on 2 different bikes and the 2nd pair of hands were great along with making sure things are tight and in right place.
Where do you live? The guy that painted mine installed it in a little over an hour. I watched him do it. He does a lot of them and knows exactly what to do. He is in Jacksonville, FL. I can get you contact information if you live down here in the Sunshine State.
I just got my new inner fairing, and am wondering
what is a fair price for the dealer to installe it
Thanks guys

'Fair' price...I don't know, but just had one installed at the dealer for $364. That included installing an oil temp gage (I had bought earlier). I had called an 'indy' three times to ask for his quote, but I guess he is doing good business wise, because he never called back.
I dropped my bike off in the morning, got it back in the afternoon. I also bought some street glide mirrors for it and they put them on.
Don't know if I could have done it by myself or not...not too many people around me offering to do stuff for a twelve pack.
Luckily, I had the money....got it done. Looks better than the faded black piece of crap that was on the bike.
