Pull over and use the phone. There's enough reasons to be sharp and focused on a bke. Why add a distraction? My phone is in the tourpak. It stays there for the duration.
Hi all,
I'm sure you guys have had this question before, but I am new to the Ultra Classic and this forum.
Does anyone know how I can talk on my cell phone while rideing my 2010 UC? If i could do that I could use my motorcycle for work. I have the headsets and I have an iPhone.
Love to hang up and ride, but unfortunately on call 24/7 when not booked off.
On new Ultra, I use my Zumo 550, along with a J&M integration module setup. My GPS now talks through my HK radio and HD headphones, my phone also rings into my headset, so I can answer hands free and pull over as necessary.
Cardo is great, had it on last bike, but does not work in conjunction with a HD headset in your helmet.
Call J&M, they will tell you what you ned to purchase.
If some of you out there have hearing that is good enough to hear a cel phone ring at 60-70 mph and be able to pull over safely in time for it not to go to voice messaging, then you do not need to do anything.
I can't hear mine when in my pocket and riding. If I did not answer, I would not have a job. If I stayed off the bike to answer, I would never ride.
I hate phones, I don't use them anymore than absolutely necessary. I don't make phone calls while riding, I just answer, then do what is necessary regarding the call. Not all phone calls are for stupid reasons. I cannot afford to wait and check messages when I stop for a break. By then it is too late. The system is totally hands free, so no worse than your wife or g/f talking and socializing with her buddies while taking the kids to softball practice in the family cage.
