STAGE 1 ECM IS IF YOU TAKE THE BIKE TO THE DEALER AND HAVE THEM DOWNLOAD THE STAGE 1 PROGRAM FROM HARLEY DAVIDSON
YOUR ECM SHOULD ALWAYS BE STOCK UNLESS YOU HAVE THIS DONE

Stage I ECM means a dealership updated the control code on the bikes computer. Sometimes they do it, sometimes they don;t unless you ask for it.

The Stage I air filter is not the same as Stage I ECM.

A PC map for a bike with like hardware + a Stage I flash, might not be quite right on a bike w/o the flash, but it would not hurt to try it.

Hope that's what you were asking...???....

Yes you have a stock ECM.

I do have a related question - Does the PCIII with the correct map to a stock ECM negate the need for a Stage I download from the dealer?

I am of the belief that the Stage 1 download allows the bike to rev to 6200 rpm. (?)
I recall that Dynojet now has an additional program to duplicate the feat for those with the stock ECM.

Default RE: map download question

Just had my pcIII dynoed.. Used a downloaded map before that . my map was for stock ECM, mitre cut Sampson pipes and hi flow. That map negated the need for a download. I also had them raise my rev limiter while they were at it. I would reccomend a dyno tune at your earliest convenience. Even though my map was close and the Dyno tune only took 30 minutes, cost me a well spent $70.00, and it made a lot of difference...
