Default Replaceing Cables

I need to order longer cables for my handlebar change and was debating between stainless steel and the Magnum Chromate II or HD Diamondback. I have heard that the covered lines change color after time and most people are changing to stainless steel.

Don't know about the 'covered cables',but I've been using Russell S/S cables on bikes for years. They don't stay shiny (like new), but kinda mellow with age. My Ol' Springer has had them on for 20+ years and they still function as when new.
S/S brake lines are a great improvement over stock 'rubber' lines!!!

I have the Chromite II cables. They aren't covered. Did some used to have a plastic cover or something? BTW......the Chromite cable are really nice looking. I can't give you a time comparison as I have only had them on for 6 months. I did a lot of reading before I bought them and no one (on HDF) said anything about yellowing.

The chromite II cables are covered. I've had them for 4 years now. They still look new. If you don't believe they are covered, go out and bend one, you'll see the clear cover wrinkle.

If I go through with the handlebar change it will probably be Wild One WO575.

Magnum chromite II's all the way. they are cheaper than the Diamond Backs and will never fade. I avhe the Diamond backs on my bike adn the other guys at the shop have the magnum chromite's. The difference is impressive. We can get them for you as well.
