I'm looking for a replacement for the stock seat on my '06 Road Glide.
I originally was thinking about the Corbin Classic Solo w/ a pillion to give me some versatility. However, I went on the Corbin website and saw their Hollywood Solo. Admittedly, it doesn't have all the size and cushion of the Classic, but does it ever look good!! (I know, form-over-function...)
Has anyone ever tried the Hollywood? If so, how was it on longer rides? Have you tried two-up with the pillion?
I had one and hated it.....like riding on a board and it kept making me slide back further and further.[sm=forgetit.gif]
I swapped it out for this seat and absolutely love this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._promot_widget
I had a Hollywood solo on my RK for a year. I found it comfortable enough for 500mi/day rides. It does put you about 2" lower & farther back than other seats. I'm 6'1" and couldn't quite reach the highway pegs with the Hollywood Solo. No, the Touring models won't accept a passenger pillion. Yes, IMO it is the best looking seat you can put on your ride.
Reasons for changing the Hollywood Solo: Went to the SE RK dash and the seat didn't mate up. Wanted the option for 2-up and now have a SE RK Classic solo + pillion.
Corbin makes top quality seats, but each individual either loves or hates the firmness.
