I think I need to replace the battery in my 2007 Ultra. I am having warm starting issues including slow turn-overs and missed starts.
Is the HD branded battery the best replacement? Are there others on the market? Are there better and less expensive batteries available and where would I look?
Stick w/HD....you might find cheaper, but that's not always better when it comes to starting your scoot. HD's batteries are actually one of the best on the market.
DEKA is a good battery also www.batterymart.com HD is easy to get though...I hate paying too much for the same thing...for all i know DEKA makes HD batteries....Made in the USA...They are in Winchester VA so you would get it in 2-3 days.. 2 days if you order early in the day enough. I order medical seal batteries from them all the time for patient lift in our Nursing Homes.
You do have a lot choices.Mine has been with a local battery supplier, that always tests all the batteries for the highest cca.My 02 Road King still has the same battery, still spinning the 124" over plenty of omph.It is always hooked to a battery Tender.
Same thing with my 07 SG. I was thinking the starter was going then I noticed my battery voltage is only showing eleven volts when not running.
FX4? Did you replace the battery? Did it resolve the starting problems? My missed starts are kind of a "kick-back," like there was not enough power to get past the compression on a warm engine.
DEKA makes HD batteries. All Harley does is put their name on it and mark up the price. That being said you can get just as good of battery elsewhere.
You need to make sure you get a sealed type AGM battery. BatteriesPlus sells a good replacement, there should be a store near you, they are all over the country.
On a side note, once you get a new battery, put a battery tender on it from the get go and use it all the time 24/7, 365 regardless of the season while it is parked. It will go a long way in saving your battery.
