Default Post tune question

I have an 05 Ultra with SE Air filter, V&H Basic Slip-ons.
I purchased a 95" kit, SE Race tuner (latest one) and dyno.
95" kit and basic map were installed

There was a bit more power, the bike didn't sound any different.
No decel popping really at all. I rode her around 1300 miles.

Had the dyno tune done.
Notice even more power especially were I told them I ride
(2200 - 3000 RPM).
But... This thing pops on decel like CRAZY. I don't mean every once
in a while, it's like all the time. Guys behind me say it sounds like I'm
dropping fire crackers (on decel).

I spoke to the tuner and he said it's because of the crossover on the 05 and
that it lets a lot of oxygen in. Thus all the popping. He tuned the bike more
for performance and can get rid of the popping but it would be at a loss of
some of the power I gained.

My questions - comments I guess are:
I know that popping is not bad for the bike - it's just annoying as hell with
how much it's doing it. Every time I lay off the throttle it's popping like crazy.

Why didn't it pop really at all with the 95" kit and same pipes before the tune?
What type of power loss can I expect to eliminate some of this annoying popping?

Thanks,
Joe

Why not just change out the exhaust if that is the issue?

These are the same slip-ons that were on the bike before the tune. And they didn't pop
prior to the dyno. I assumed that they are popping now due to the changes that where done for the dyno tune (fuel mixture etc...) I'm not even close to an expert on any of this so please excuse me.

My point is this... The 05 bikes have a crossover and that was there with the original bike, and there with the V & H basic Oval Slip-ons. It was only after the tune that it popped
like crazy.

I assume if I purchased new pipes (not slip ons) that this would eliminate the crossover?
If so, then this would be one solution to get rid of all the popping and perhaps get more power. I think my original question still stands. Can this bike be tuned to not pop so annoyingly without too much of a loss in power.

Or is the real answer to purchase true duals and get a new dyno done?

Thanks,
Joe
