Default Valve tick
I have a 2010 roadglide with 800 miles wondering how much valve train noise is normal seems to be getting a little louder. I just have a slip on installed that's not very loud.

My night train has. Worked motor with loud pipes so I don't hear the tick

After three Harleys my 2010 was the nosiest of the bunch, I noticed it was loudest around 3500 RPM. During the 1000 mile inspection the dealer found the compensator nut was loose. It is much quieter now but still noisier than my 08 ,hmm.

The sewing machine noise is pretty much a normal thing. You could run straight 50w dino oil in the summer, it helps a little. Louder exhaust helps even more.

When I hear my engine tick, I think of it like a clock. As long as it's ticking, I know it's running.
