Look you ignorant little ***, that was good advice not a slam. You want to rely on guesses from the internet, go ahead! Your DMV will correct you no matter what you hear from the sea lawyers here!

What's a sea lawyer...LOL I've lived and bought motorcycles and cars in about 6 different states. I've always paid the sales tax in the state I lived and titled them. I've never heard of anyone having to pay sales tax in both states. If you buy the bike in Md, he'll give you a bill of sale and the title if you pay cash for it. Then when you get home, you will go to your DMV and register it and get your license. That's when you pay the Tax's. If you want to ride it home, the seller can give you a drive out tag. my 2 c

I live in Alabama and purchased a vehicle in Florida about 4 years ago. I paid taxes in Florida and when I registered the vehicle in Alabama they (Alabama DMV) marked off the amount I paid in Florida and said they would collect back from Florida.

Default sales tax

It depends!
If Michigan and Indiana have a reciprocal agreement you only pay in one state!

I won a bike in Illinois a few years ago the only thing it cost me was the sales tax. As I recall had to pay the sales tax at the Indiana rate. And Did Not have to pay any sales tax in Indiana.
This may Help

You should also check with your states' DMV and make sure there isn't any reason as to why you can't bring in an out of state motor vehicle and be able to register and title it. Case in point: California will not allow you to bring in ANY motor vehicle that does not meet California emissions, unless it has 7,500 miles or more on it at the time you bring it in or, you incur the expense of having it meet current emission standards.

Don't know how it works in your states. I bought a bike at KC Creations in Kansas City, KS. Had to fill a out a form that attested that I would title and pay the taxes on it in Colorado, where I live.

I live in Washington state and bought a bike in Florida last year. I paid cash and got a bill of sale and the title. I took those to the Washington DMV, and they collected their sales tax. I did not pay any tax in Fla. I had the bike shipped though, it might be different if you're picking it up in person.
