My 4' 9" wife took her riders safety class this weekend on the Suzuki 250 bikes that they provide. All in all she had a great weekend of riding that little bike around a parking lot but here is where the funny part comes in.
Sunday was 85 deg and sunny here in Michigan so I decide to go on a ride with a bunch of guys while she took her final test. 3:00pm we all stop off to get a mmmm Pop at a local watering hole and my phone rings "hun, come pick me up so that we can go get me a new Harley" ...................... Hold the phone hunny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations to her and her ambitions. Have you really been paying attention in recent weeks?!
Built this one for the OL, & she decided she prefers to ride on back of the glide. Gonna sell it.....just say'n... Last pic shows w/ 2-1 exhaust which is what is currently on the bike
You could look for a Yamaha V-star 650. They are low and pretty damn light. A 250 might be fine for parking lot riding but she is going to want more out on the road. Screaming the **** out of a little 250 would get old fast.
Yea, she likes the back of the Glide but I am sure now she will want to ride sometimes. I plan to find her a Harley; however, I think something cheap is a better idea for a few months. I wont mind if she drops a cheap bike a few times out in parking lot but would hate to finish her training on a harley
I think I will let her build up some confidence on a small bike and see what we can do about finding a very low harley.
I think that is smart. Chances are pretty good that she will tip it over once or twice in the beginning. My G/F tipped hers over twice. Once was the gravel lesson and the other was a very steep incline in a parking area where I turned around. We were on a trip and she was loaded down. That one I chalk up as being my fault for pulling an advanced u-turn over that incline.
