I have a 09 streetglide with about 9500 mi on it and the volt gauge has gone out twice, each time it starts to happen slowly but what it does is fluctuate wildly from 13 to16. Dealer changed out under warranty but I don't think they have root cause figured out yet. Anybody have any ideas?
Thompson,
I've been dealing with a voltage problem for two months now.
Funny thing is that everything checks ok.
Voltage reg/stator and battery. Only thing I could come up
with is one of the two plugs coming off the Vr.
The one is right there at the Vr and goes to the stator and
the other one goes down along side the bottom frame.
When I open those up and spray with contact cleaner my
volts stay steady at 14 otherwise it fluctuates.
Just for ***** & giggles try it!
