Default Installing Jackpot Headpipe

Today I ordered exhaust, a/c PCV, and headpipe from Fuelmoto. I forgot to ask Jamie about the exhaust gaskets for the headpipe. Does anyone who has already installed the headpipe remember what type gasket is needed?

Thanks a lot,

Richard

My experience- copper rings are best. Stock replacement is fine as well. Also, once I had to re-use the factory gasket that was already there and had no issues.

Just my $0.02...

My bike was new with only 600 miles on it and I just reused the original ones. I did have to replace the gasket in the crossover pipe and use a tailpipe expander to get it to fit over the new headpipe. It may be my imagination but the headpipe and jackpot slip ons seemed to make a big difference in torque on my Limited 103.

I ordered the same header and was told by Fuelmoto to use the same gaskets from the stock pipe.

However, just to be on the safe side I put and order in for the 17048-98 HARLEY DAVIDSON Screamin' Eagle® Performance Exhaust Gasket Kit.

Gaskets are cheap, get new ones. PITA to have to remove because of a leak. The stock ones are fine.

The Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe is designed to be used with stock tapered exhaust gaskets and each pipe is built to exact specs and tested in a CNC fixture, if you use the SE or other flat style gaskets the fitment will be changed from our specs as the pipe will essentially be moved .200 toward the motor. The billet collars on our pipe are closely matched to the exhaust port and offer a perfect seal with the tapered gaskets. I recommend inspecting the factory gaskets including the gasket on the crossover pipe and replacing them if needed, we do commonly reuse them here as long as everything is carefully disassembled and they look good.

Listen to Jamie here.

I used the SE gaskets and it made things a bit tight around the motor for the front down pipe. The stock gaskets would have gave the proper clearance.

I've never been a big fan of re-using gaskets of any kind. I recommend buying new OEM gaskets for the Jackpot headers.
