I need help!!!!! I have an 06 RoadKing STD on order and I want to know what's going on with these bikes. I definitely don't want to buy a New motorcycle that has problems in reguards to safety issues. I dread riding my bike with myself and my wife and then the bike suddenly pulls to the left and into the divider in the carpool lane! Is this something inherent to the 2005 Models or are the 2006's ok.
Quick!! Call the Game Warden. Someone is TROLLING for a sucker with this line. 1 post is just bait!!!!
I am seriously looking for help reguarding this matter with the 06 Roadking. Please if anyone has any knowledge of any type of riding problem in reguards to tracking properly or pulling I would like to know. I have ordered a 06 King Std and I need to know before my HD comes in. I still have a chance to switch units. I have considered a Glide but I really don't want any fairing or radio that's why I have stuck to the King. Any help is much appreciated.
No progress fellas. Still has the same pull. I'm tired of the dealership dance.
To roadhog, the pull DOES NOT happen suddenly. It is there all the time when the bars are free.(no hands) Hands on the bars and it's fine.
According to the Factory rep it is happening to 30 to 40 % of all the touring bikes. Seems to me like all the bigger bikes with a rear swing arm and upright rear shocks.
I havn't heard any complaints about the softail models. The Roadking is a fantastic bike. I just wish this issue wasn't there at all. It would be a perfect bike other than that. I don't know if the '06 models do the same thing or not. Can't see what the differencs would be if the manufacturing process remains the same.
Anyway the bikes are Beautiful and so is the weather so lets ride while we can.
I didn't catch what state you're in but you might consider contacting your state
Atty. Generals' office. Very effective in N.H. for dealing with problems like you're having.
Lean on the safety issue, and the fact that not all RK have this problem.
Demand a fix,or another bike.
My 06 RK tracks dead straight, thats the way it's suppose to work.
Anything else is BS
I know a guy that had the same problem, went through all the hoops.
eventually replace Head bearings and swing arm bearings all better now>
not alot space on the sides of the rear tire, check for rubbing I heard that as well.
Called the factoy on friday 9/14/05, spoke to a woman named Michelle who made it very clear that I was bothering her by calling.[:@]
I was told that there was nothing that could be done at any higher levels since the factory rep has ridden the bike and deemed it an acceptable occurance and that it takes less than 2 lbs of pull pressure to make the bike go straight.
My next step is to contact Willie G. Davidson by certified mail.
After that I guess it's lemon law time.[&o]
Roadscraper,
Were those replacement parts done under warranty?
