Cop Bike-Saddle Bag Hockey Pucks
Note the 'bracket' that runs from one mounting bolt to the other, and is flush with the bottom of the push-button body. This serves two purposes. One is it keeps you from bashing the push-button into the bag contents. The other function it serves is…
The push-buttons I had were all plastic (save for the metal spring inside). You need to put enough pressure on the latch that it will stay in place against the catch inside the bag, so the lid stays closed. The 'latch' is the black piece in the pic.
This tension puts a constant strain/stress on the plastic push-button body. With strain, and all the vibration, within a month or two (in my experience) the push-button body would break where the threads meet the non-threaded body toward the top of the button.
The aluminum bracket (flat bar) that sits flush against the bottom of the push-button takes the strain off the push-button body. You tighten the outer nuts just enough that it puts a slight amount of pressure against the bottom of the body. Then, you snug the inner bolts up, and tighten the two bolts so the bar/bracket stays put.
I did this and it eliminated the broken push-button bodies. I gave the bags to a co-worker, and he rides his bike to work almost every day. The push-buttons are still in place after several years…
If you buy metal push-buttons, you might not have this issue. I had some of those, too, that used a key. But I liked the looks and convenience of just pushing a button to open the bags. I never had the metal/keyed push-buttons on the bike longer than a day or two.
BTW, the push-buttons I used would leak water if you sprayed it directly on them from a hose. Maybe a tablespoon or so during a typical wash. I suspect they'd leak a little, too, in a hard rain (though I never rode in a hard-rain to see).
IF I had it to do over, I'd get one of the metal pucks or puck-covers and not use buttons. The pucks are more reliable and are designed, as long as the gaskets are intact, to NOT leak water. And I've seen some pucks that looked pretty good, whereas the plain black 'stock' variant doesn't have much eye-appeal.
Hope this helps.

I really like the pucks, but yes they are ugly, functional but ugly.
Did a lot of reading on the pushbuttons, most all need drilling as they are larger.
Momma found these FBI replacement pucks and I installed them on her RK.

SHE likes them, look really good! There is a secret to installing, if you decide, drop me a line and I'll talk you through it. I on the other hand did not like the twist, twist, twist to get them open. You have to turn the pucks 270*, pucks are easy to turn and you do not notice the 270*.
I installed a set of Owen's puck covers on my E-Elide, nice and dressy, took them into the local trophy shop and had the engraved before the install. Really like the way they turned out.

A couple of other options for you to consider.

Take a look @ my two options, think I have a couple of pucks around here if you just want to replace. H-D wants you to buy a full set for replacement.
