2002 Electra Glide, coming home last night engine light came on, lights dim and the rpms would not lower. I look at volts and it showed it was charging, can you help me trouble shoot this problem. I was thinking altranator, regulator or maybe even the battery. The battery is 4 years old and I take it out every winter but do not use a battery tender.

 

I'd start there. Bring the battery to dealer and they'll charge overnight and then put on the Midtronics battery tester. That will tell if the battery is good or shot. If not good, replace. You can also test the battery right in the bike if you have a multimeter and you can test the rest of the charging system as well.

 

Double check your connections before anything.
