Just had a blow out on my rear tire (`09 RG). 7500mi. on old tire 8/32in. of tread. New tire has 10/32in. Old tire looks like it was stabbed dead center with a 2in. wide knife. Happed on 20mi. freeway trip to home after work. Had been up to 85mph. Didn`t know there was a problem untill stopping at exit. Limped it home the last 3mi. and bead never broke but it was hot enough to fry an egg. New black wall installed on rim and balanced $300 at dealer
Just had my back tire changed over the weekend with an E3 (Dunlop). I noticed a huge difference in the way it handles. Much, much better than the stock.
Went to Conrads h-d I Joliet Il .Last weekend .They had the Drag Specialties trailer ther. The Drag Rep had a dunlop display and said that the new American Elite for the 2009 and newer bikes will be out the first week in August at the latest

just put on E3`s last week .from listening to the great review`s here, $200 shipped to my door from wilsons. When i brought them to my indy the guy never heard of them and was bitching about the side wall looking like a bitch, then he said the rear is wider than stock and stock tires are the best for your bike.
I said it`s bigger but it will go, you have to eat so if they give you a hard time getting on the bead i will have to pay you that`s all, Well when i went to pick the bike up he said they went right on,he took it for a 6 mile test ride and told me wow those tires are great, i have to aggree they dont suck you in to road grooves, and make the bike very nimble i am running the same pressure as the stock tires. he also said my bike ran great with the pc5 and he couldn`t get it to backfire , because i told him about fuelmoto custom map, i dont think he beveived me when i said it ran perfectly! LOL..

Good to know, but that is going to be too late for me. I will need another set of rubber before heading to Sturgis, I don't want to cut it that close. I am going to hold out until the end of July and pick something at that time.
right now the only choice is stock dunlop as the sizes for the 09 arent out yet. so..... this thread is worthless.and even when they come out it will take a few months to start getting feedback.
