Default Rear Hard Case

The top rear case, is there a light kit out for these, so when you open it up, the light goes on? I have an auxiliary cable for the radio back there, along with a 12volt power source. That's great, because I can now charge my phone on the fly along with streaming internet radio and getting gps navigation. I have a HTC Droid, so I get the Goolge Navigation right on the phone. Love it.

Anyway, I was curious if anybody knows of an auxiliary light kit that turns on and off with the opening and closing of the lid.

It's not automatic, you have to press the middle to turn it on/off, but this is what I have http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
You might check out the DIY at the top of the page for some other ideas.

I bought a $20 LED strip from Autozone and installed a switch in the liner above the left tail light. Wired it to the same type of 12 volt power that you described. Cheap, simple and lights up really bright. If wired to an acc line it will require the key to be on but cannot be left lit by mistake.

jberg,

if you could send me a couple pics of what you did, I sure would appriciate it. Intersted in the parts you bought and how you wired it. My 12volt supply is a battery tendor cable attached to the battery with a fused line. 7.5 amp. my e-mail is jsultra09@gmail.com
