I have an 09 Street Glide and bought a HD Sidekick seat on Ebay. It is the correct part number, but the seat will NOT butt up against the rear part of the console. Anyone have a solution for this? I have tried everything I can think of. Thanks in advance.
Bill
I have the rallyrunner seat and I know what you are talking about. I blacked out the strap from the console.(electrical tape) and positioned the wires so as not to be obvious. There still is a gap there but it doesn't look too bad and I am fussy to say the least. What really sucks is that the original seat scuffed the console. I also bent that strap down towards the frame as it was holding the seat upwards. That helped alot. Good luck. You can always add it to your collection as I have four seats so far and the number is growing. LOL

+1. Thanks for stating that..I'd kinda forgot about that...
I wonder if our warranty covers that?
Ya never know it might be worth asking...
I think that I will...
Yep. The original seat scuffed the console and the tank. Maybe I could find someone that could either cut down the original, or extend the Sidekick seat about an inch. I like the Sidekick because it sits lower.
Did you look to see if the Tab on the back of the seat is adjustable? My Brawler seat didnt meet up with my console but the tab had two screws in it so you can make it longer or shorter allowing it to move.
Most HD seats are riveted and not adjustable but some of them have screws and can be moved for this very reason.
Let us know if warranty will cover a scuffed console from the stock seat. When I replaced my stock seat with my new C&C seat I found the console scuffed and the tank as well. My guess is MoCo will say no but would like to know. Pisses me the console is scuffed and in plain sight now with new seat.
Not sure how much you are talking about but the stock tank and dash can both be loosened and pushed back some. They have a good amount of play in them.
I will try to move the tank back a tad. I already know about the back tab, that has nothing to do with the seat not going forward. Thanks for the tip on the tank. ****. Too many T's.

Right now I have an 08 RG seat on my 09 SG that has been mod-ed by MCC, but I still have the original SG seat too, but when I went to put on the RG seat I noticed that the dash was very scuffed from the SG seat. I guess that we're just supposed to eat that? Don't seem right, spendng $20K +on a ride and having it do that...Really did not notice the tank so much though.
I suppose if I call up my dealership and told the service manager about it I'd be told to bring it in, then I'd have to switch back to the original seat otherwise they'd say it was the RG seat. I just hate them even really touching my ride w/out me being there even though it is only a piece of metal. I know how they work and I don't think that they work on eveyone's ride the way they would on their own. JMO..
You guys know how they opperate..
I don't think you can do anything to make that seat fit close to the dash. My brother in law and father in law both had that seat on their 09's and same thing. They tried adjusting everything possible.
