Thanks for the corrections on the AF bases. I agree on the FP issue; but also like the idea of the bases being "somewhat" secure. Then again there is no real "fix" to the situation.

Even without the post decal I still need a state inspection plate. I believe I'm gonna get the one to bolt to the fork near the neck of the frame.

I'm army and they don't issue us Base Passes anymore then again, I work on joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson. 100% ID Checks no Exceptions. I'm down in Oklahoma for a Military school, and a friend from Fort Bragg, doesn't have to have post decals either.

I found military inspection sticker mounts that bolt to the bike on EBay. They ran about $16 shipped.

My HD Dealer had these aluminum plates with a slotted "Tab". I bolted it right to the fender using an existing bolt.

Wheni was moving from Bragg back in March they were saying that post decals were not being issued any more so i couldn't get one for my new bike, Then i get to Polk and had to go get one on top of a reflective vest. At bragg we just needed a pt belt, so much cooler in the summer!

In MA, inspections stickers are on the license plate. I only go to the base when traveling out of state for work, so I always have a rental car. But they don't require stickers for access, just for parking so I have to get a temp each time I'm there.

For military base decals, I have heard of purchasing the flexible magnetic sheets at you local office supply store, put the decals on, trim to size of decals, and put magnet on the front fork. Easily removable when not on base. Here, we get the flexible magnets stuck to our new phone books advertising lawyers and such. I use those.

This is where my metalsmith work comes in handy. Get creative. You can go to Home Depot and purchaseflat aluminum stock. Figure out the size of your decals, cut the stock to size, drill a hole for mounting on the crash bar, paint it black and you have your piece for whatever your state/base requires.

I was Army, but it always depressed me to see proof that the Air Force actually USED their brains...Then again, they are also the service that sends their officers to battle, while the enlisted stay safe

NCO's LEAD THE WAY

I was just about to say the same thing. I am overseas, we do not have them due to Force Protection. I am Navy, but was at an Air Force Base for a while, it was nice not to have crap on the windows. All ID's are checked regardless, I think all should go away from it.
