The price for the Classic is more than fair, plus the warrenty. Around my parts, used Super Glides are hard to sell and are moving REALLY slow. $7500 for a used superglide today is not horrible. If you are lucky, you might get 9000 if you wait long enough.

To answer your questions on the 2006 touring models. I, for one, will NEVER own a Harley newer than an '06 unless the feds back off on all the EPA rules, which probably wont happen. call me old fashioned, nuts, or whatever...just my preferrence.

I have a 2006 Street Glide with 27K on it right now. Would be alot more, but I was traveling most of last season for work and did not get much saddle time.

I have no Cat in the pipes, no O2 sensors, no EPA crap at all. I have an actual throttle cable and no heat issues or a computer mandated "V-One" moter. I never knew I needed an Isolated drive system nor care to find out what one is. If you don't like the vibs, buy a Honda. I do not see any of these "features" as a plus in the newer bikes.

I have done NOTHING to this bike except for mods and normal maintenance. The 88 Twin cam with stage I, V&H pipes and tuner give more than enough power. If I ever want more, I will swap cams and possible a 95 kit. Never once did I pine for a 6-speed.

It really doesnt matter what anyone on these forums thinks of the deal. If you like the classic and feel it is a fair deal...make it. If you wont be able to live with it , pass or try to work the deal a little. Is 500 bucks really enough to make or break a deal? Your call.

I say - you can be riding the classic this afternoon. What is that worth to you? Or is getting the best possible deal more important?

Default 06 Kind of Harley

I also like the 06 models...I had a Road King Classic and just had to have an Ultra...So I traded mine for fair nada trade and paid fair nada retail at my dealer...all I got was a deal for the dealer to remove all my chrome from the King and put on the Ultra...I think I was treated fairly and am will have the Ultra as my last Harley...I hope...Rick

No, dealer wants $12,600 plus tax, title, etc. for the Electra Glide........or..............he'll take MY bike plus $6,000......and it's mine......that works out to about $7500 for my bike.

Well, it's looking a little better if the OTD (including TTL) price of the EG is $13,600 and the trade difference is $6,000. I still think you're about $1,000 short on your trade in, not sure about the price on the EG but that sounds about right.
