Default dragging front brake

i had an accident(not my fault) on my 05 road king a while back. the front fender and left brake rotor were ruined and lower fork leg damaged. after replacement i noticed the bike rolls harder. with the bike up on a lift i find the right caliper is dragging, the left side o.k. i can losen the caliper mounting bolts a little and the wheel turns free. it is as if the wheel is too far to the left. the outside brake pad will clear the rotor but not the inside one. i've checked and have the axle spacers in right(long on the left short on the right) and the inside pistons are bottomed out. any idea what i have done wrong? i hate to put shim washers under the caliper mounting bolts.

Could it be possible the axle or the other fork leg are bent? You mentioned an accident, maybe the other leg is tweaked and throwing the caliper out of alignment. If the axle were slightly bent, it would try to twist one of the legs when the lower clamp were tightened.

so you only changed the left leg? I'd be willing to bet the right side got a might bit tweaked also, and that's what's causing this.

Default brake dragging

the left lower leg was gouged, mostly cosmetic damage. i will look closer at the right one. the car i hit was moving from my left fo my right, so most damage was on the left side. i didn't notice the dragging until after replacing the fender and lower leg. i replaced the left rotor and rode it for a few weeks while wating on a new fender.
