I'm having most of my chrome powder coated black for my 2010 FLHTK. I bought the upgraded Tour Pak hinges and an extra set of latches to send to powder coat. I also need to do the catches. I'm not 100% sure of the part numbers, but I have:
90705-97 Tour Pak Catch - Standard rivet type
90658-84A Tour Pak Catch - Screw type
Wondering if anyone can verify, and specifically if there are pros and cons between the two. I like to idea that I can drill out and replace the catches myself if I use the screw-in types. Just wondering if there is any reason that's not a good idea (maybe the standard rivet mounting is stronger or more durable?). I think I saw somewhere that the screw-in type uses a self threading screw, which gives me some concern.
OK, took one more look after posting this. As far as I can tell the screw-in type has stand-offs that don't line up with newer Tour Paks. So looks like I'll just get the rivet type, get em powder coated, and let the stealer swap them out.
