Default SE 255 Cams

I'm looking for a little first hand experience/advice on these cams from other bagger pilots. I have used the search feature on this site, and others, and honestly I have read so much cam information my head is spinning.

Here is what I got:
07 FLHX with Reinhardts true duals, and Power Commander, other then that...its stock, and I'm looking for some more low end grunt.

I have read good and bad about the SE 255 cams, so I'm just asking for some advice. I'm not planning on a 103" kit at this time, just need some more power

If I were to go with the SE 255's what kind of tune/map would I need to get? Or would it be alright to ride it with the current map on the power commander?

I have a set of SE 203 Cams I bought awhile back before I bought my FLHX, but after doing some reading...I don't know if thats what I need.

I appreciate the advice.

If your looking for that "low end grunt" the 255's are just the ticket! You will need a new map for that PC. Should be able to get the map from PC website or, an even better map from Jamie @ Fuel Moto.

New 2009 Ultra last April..

Put on V&H Monster Ovals, Fuel Moto Stg 1 AC and the PC V... That was nice...

Next I had the SE255 cams installed (bought them on E-bay) was going to do the install myself but had a lifter go bad under warranty and had the dealer install the 255's and tappered, adjustable pusrods when they had it apart... Added some nice low end grunt... I was happy...

I wanted more, so, at 9500 miles I installed a S&S 106 BigBore Kit and the AutoTune for the PCV..

Now I'm a real happy camper...

Never ridden a bike with them, but lots of people speak highly of them. Also some say that Andrews has a new cam out that is similar to the SE-255. I think it's the 48.

I have a SE255 cam with V&H's dresser duals, Monster Ovals and stage1 AC. I have a PC-V from FuelMoto with their map. You will enjoy the new found low end grunt.

Good low end with these cams. I am always in the powerband when I cruise at 2,600 to 3,000 rpms. No need to shift down to pass most any normal traffic on the rode. Just twist the throttle and smile.

Just finished installing mine today and took it for short ride. I have not had it tuned yet but it has a little more chatter in the valve train. Anyone else have this problem?

I got mine installed a couple of weeks ago by a friend of mine; kept stock pushrods.

I have an 08 police bike with the 103 engine. When I got it, I was somehow disappointed with performance.

Installed Jackpot exhaust, SE air filter and TFI and it improved quite a bit. As a matter of fact I was happy with the performance. Then I started reading about the se255's and it caught my attention so I got them installed.

With the new cams, I did switch to a power commander and yes, I did notice some improvement but not much. BTW, I used a map from power commander and I was not very happy with it so I started tinkering with it.

I noticed that the throttle position was not set right, fixed it and now I can see why everybody is so happy with the se255 !, well worth the money spent. I really like them, great improvement. Even on 6th passing on the highway there is plenty of power.
