Default Mileage on stock Dunlops ?

I bought a set of E3's last year before going to Daytona Biketoberfest and was thinking I would need them when I got there. I rode down and had a friend haul the tires down in his trailer. Well here I am the following year and I now have over 17,000 miles on my bike with original tires and still am not close to the wear bars on the front or back. My buds claim I have some strange experimental tires that HD is trying....LOL. I have been really anxious to try the E3's but can't seem to wear the originals out !! I have an 08 SG and ride 2 up 90% of the time. Anyone else have original Dunlops that are wearing like iron ?

I put on over 17k on the rear stocker with a few thousand left prolly but I put on a AVON Venom and only got 13k out of that one and the cords were showing. The stock front has more tread left at about 31k but I've finally put on all new E3's. They look pretty sweet, now if they can wear nice - I'm going to keep buying them.

Got 15k with some left on the rear, put new stock tire back on it! Had 22.5k on the front 2/32's left on it I have an air gauge and use it weekly. Also I don't ride like a teenager anymore!! I replaced both with original equipment tires, I figure if it ain't broke why fix it.

I'm in the same boat. I have an 09 EGC at 14k miles that was a renter bike for the first 10k miles. I can only guess at how it was treated on burnouts, weight, et cetera.

Folks were talking about wearing out every 12 to 15k miles but mine almost look new?

Maybe mine will have some sudden downhill slide and fall apart in just a couple thousand miles but from what I see so far I'd be shocked to not hit 20k on the originals.

I've had great luck with stock Dunlop 402's. I've averaged around 16k on both of my rear tires and about 32 on my front. Pretty good IMO.

Changed rear Dunlop mid season last summer....approx 17k miles
front is still stock with just under 26k..... plenty of tread left for another couple thousand.
More than half my riding is 2-up.......

I faithfully check tire pressure.....40 - 41 on front and 43 -44 on rear.

09 Ultra with 14.9k 4/32's front and rear, 90% two up and fully loaded. I figure Ill make it to 20k on the rear easy.

The roads you guys ride must be smooth as glass,I got 9k on the stock Dunlop on my 07 FLHTC. 30k I'm on my 4th rear tire.
1st stock 9k little tread left
2nd Avon venom 8k stuck like glue, bald when changed
3rd Metzler around 10k slick, spun easy, didnt feel good wet, never again thread showing when changed.
4th Dunlop E3 about 3k so far,so far I like the E3 we will see for miles.
