Does anyone have a new style Road Zepplin seat on a FLHTCU? I ride an 09 with my wife and we do long trips where we average 325mi or more daily.
I ride the hammock seat now and like it. However my wife needs a little more comfort and padding.
We have the hammock seat it is very nice. On my 2003 ultra I had the road zepplin -it was the best for both people. When I got my 09 I needed something different -- the stock seat SUCKS. For some reason Harley changed the road zepplin and took the air out of the rear passenger part. I probaly would have gotten another road zep but they just came out recently. Maybe just add one of those new pads Harley is selling -- it would be cheaper then another seat. GOOD LUCK !
i have had both the old zeppelin and the new cvo leather heated hammock. i cannot imaging that the new zeppelin has more padding then the seat we have now. it is a lazy boy feeling for her back there.
The Road Zeppelin seat will raise you up about 1", but it's not so much that you can't reach the ground.
When I am riding in town where there are a lot of stop-lights, I will deflate the 'thigh' zone.
Like you & your wife, I typically ride 300+ miles when out riding so I wanted a very comfortable seat. I haven't found a better seat yet, so I'll stick with the Road Zeppelin "Butt Number" seat.
