Bingee - I'm not knocking the value of the SE comp, I just question it as a "solution" to starter kickback. I've heard, and have no problem believing, it makes a great deal of improvement in the other areas you stated earlier.
As always, there are many ways to deal with a problem, but in the case of kick back, it's my opinion, compression releases are the only real solution.

The SE comp is not a solution I thought up. It's THE solution the MOCO engineering staff has advised techs to use when encountering the kickback problem with 103 stage II builds. They have their reasons for advising this method over others. I tried it and it worked beautifully. My post was intended to report only that. I don't care if it's not the "real" solution. Or, it's putting a "band-aid" on the problem. I and a lot of others are happy with the results. That's all I intend to say about it.
