Default Drilling out stock pipes

I know, I know buy new pipes...This question if for the fella's with stock pipes. To the one's of your who have drilled out the stock pipes for a little more sound, did you have to have any re-mapping done after the bafflectomy or were you good to go?

I'm curious also. I have an '06 Fatboy. What happens if I drill out the stock pipes?

Thanks for your replies.

no remap needed, take a long drill bit extension and a 1" metal hole saw bit, it will drill out all three plugs leaving a 1" hole all the way thru.

Yes, I agree..........buy a new exhaust system. BUT, as I was walking out of the biker's parking lot at the last Laughlin River Run, a rider started downshifting on the access street and then came idling in on a new '06 Street Glide. His exhaust sound was wonderful. I stopped and asked him what aftermarket exhaust he had installed. He grinned and said, NONE, I just totally drilled out all the baffles in the originals OEMs. I complemented him and he said he was always getting that sort of comment. I asked if he had to re-map. He said that he had a carb and just had to "rejet". All I can say is that it seemed to be working on that particular bike.

I have an '05 Road King Classic with Rinehart True Duals, which I am thrilled with in sound and in horsepower development where it counts (mid rpm range).

Big differance in drilling out the three plugs and removing the whole baffle, that would require a remap or PCIII just like adding any very free flowing muffler. the plugs wont make it much louder but will let it flow better.

Go ahead and ***** UP your bikes...make them SOUND and RUN like ****.. You people amaze me. you spend 10k to 20k for a harley, then want to go CHEAP? Why? Quit buying them chrome doo-dads, doo-rags, vest, patches, shirts, attending rallies, dinner rides, breakfast rides, lunch rides, and spending money at Bike Night, YOU might have enough money saved to purchase a quality set of pipes that will enhance your Harley riding experiences. Maybe you should carry your CHEAP A$$ back to the jap bike you came from.

Just a simple question, didn't mean to make you go postal. By the way..never had a "jap" bike, have owned Harleys for 25 years.
