Default The dyno difference

I have a 2010 Road Glide Custom
D&D Fat Cat 2 into 1 exhaust (concentric baffle)
Ness Big Sucker
96" Engine
Woods TW6-6 cam
Direct Link

After installing a Woods TW6-6 cam I took my bike to Ed at "The Dyno Difference" in Dallas, Tx for a dyno tune. Ed returned my bike to me with 89.4 HP and 94.1 TQ. and the bike runs great. The concentric baffle I have in my muffler is designed for stock engines so it kind of hindered the tune. With a power baffle Ed felt like he could get another 5 to 10 ft lb TQ out of the engine. But, I'm happy with the numbers and the way the bike performs. I highly recommend this guy. Besides knowing what he is doing he's a good guy! Even though he is 523 miles from me if I ever need a dyno tune again he will get my business.

From what I hear I would have no problem with Ed tuning my bike either. I've also heard those concentric baffle are no good for performance.

I don't know how much I believe that the concentric baffles hurt performance. The 103 in my Night Train is making 116/116 with a quiet baffle, I can't imagine that the concentric is that much more restrictive.

I'm going to head to JD's at some point this summer to get tuned, and we'll see what he says.

The quiet baffle and the concentric baffle are pretty different in their design. I had a picture of them side by side, but can't find it now.

Found a dyno chart that compares the two baffles. Notice peak numbers don't change that much, but look at the curves. Which one would you rather have?

Edit: Don't know why Photobucket is making the image so small. Sorry about that. The top (blue) line is the quiet baffle.

Not so sure about Ed being a good guy....jk ED, but he does really know how to tune!

Yup, Ed is an excellent tuner. He tuned up mine and I'm very pleased with the results!! He managed to squeeze another 10hp and 10tq for me!
