Default Exhaust Swap...

I've not done this on a bike yet but it looks pretty easy. What should I be aware of that might not be intuitive and are there any gaskets I need to order?

Just placed an order for some supermegs and want to swap the exhaust myself.

If youre just puttin on mufflers, nuthin. WD40 or pb blaster on the clamps and where the mufflers go on the pipes. Looses the clamps most of the way, undo the muffler mounts, and wiggle them off. I assume your doing this for someone else, as you show a D&D 2-1 on yours now. If doing whole system, get new exhause gaskets and maybe the nuts for the heads depending on how rusty they are. Then follow the book instructions, with particular attention to torques for the nuts at the heads and the tightening sequence.

I sold the fatcat as it was too loud for Germany. This is a full exhaust swap for me. Any special tools or extensions I might need?

I tried it got about 2/3 of the way through and had to pull the plug and trailer it to the dealer. I struggled for about an hour trying to get the flange to go over the bolts that come out of the head. Then gave up.

A decent pair of "C" clip pliers for the clips behind the exhaust flange, a 1/4" ratchet with sockets for the flange bolt nuts, & several extensions so you don't have to get the ratchet in next to the flanges on the head. Allen head sockets to loosen the bracket for the floorboard & some tie wraps to re-tie the wire harness you'll have to move to get at some of the bolts.
