I got them on my bike .. but since we have so many people with them does anyone else have like a white film on the saddle bags from the heat of them ?

I have white film/markings on the inside of my left bag. Not from heat, but the bag rubs on the plasma rod. The while film is from the plasma rod housing. This will be one of the things I am addressing this winter.

My previous post mine rubbed on my speakers I have in the bags, and one actually fell off, so I took them off, I'd love to have mine back on but my left side bag is limited on space, I only need a 1/2 inch of space for my Plasma Rods to work.
I sure would like to find a way for the left side bag to extend outward.

I got my CD stuff today, i dont like the 3\4 round idea, but i like the silicon idea. I was thinking of fabbing up a 3\4 x8" flat stock and tack welding 2 bolts in place where there are holes. How is the silicon holding up? still firm? how long\miles has it been on there?

did you try to loosen the rear saddle bag bracket (black tube) and pull it out a little? Looks like there might be a little wiggle room.

Use 100% pure silicone and clean N prep both areas is key. Only 200 miles on mine. But not expecting any problems. If i do i like your idea on the bolts. Time will tell.

The whole reason behind the 3/4 round mounting method was to provide a wide bonding surface. Brightness was not significantly affected and it didn't effect the paint. Custom Dynamics uses double sided tape on the side of the rounded bag fillers. For my money the gluing surface area is far and away smaller than with the 3/4 round method. Mine have been on since I made that original post in 2010 with no issues at all and the paint has not been damaged by any sort of bonding material. That's just my opinion of course but it has definitely worked for me!

I have to agree with Overdoo. I also use the three-quarter inch molding as a mounting system. Mine have been on for over two years now without any problems whatsoever. I mounted the three-quarter inch molding with 3M tape. This is a quick, simple, easy, and cheap way to do it. It works.

To each his own and everyone can do what they like. You do not need to overthink this project. It is simple and easy to do. Just my two cents worth.

normally there is only about a 1/4 inch inside the tube that connect so there is no "wiggle room". plus 2014 bikes are completely different then any later models. so the likelihood anyone else's saddle bag hanger is like your is very slim unless its another 2014. seeing as though Harley made it so the 2014 bike part cannot be used on a later model or visa versa
