Default Hey baggers...

Got a couple of questions...

1) How crucial are those two molding trim pieces at the bottom of the fairing? Anybody had them fall out and just leave them out??

2) After you pull the stock mirrors, what the heck can you plug the holes with? My local stealer told me there is nothing they make for that...crock of crap, I know...I figure just run a chrome bolt through it.

3) Chrome switch covers....the ones for the audio don't go on the post as far as the stock ones. Is this normal?

1) Can't say as I know what you're referring to[sm=rolleyes.gif]
2) Check hardware store for little rubber grommets or plugs and you should find something.
3) Doesn't sound right to me.

If the moulding trim pieces are the same on the newer models as the older ones, I can't imagine they'd just fall off. If they loosen, I've used various kinds of sealant to re-attach them. I believe that they help keep the inside of the fairing water tight.

Don't know about your second question.

I've also noticed that the chrome switches (the ones that do volume control or fast forward) don't go on as far as the stock ones. Never thought it was a big deal.

The black rubber pieces seal the bottom of the fairing from unwanted bugs, water etc. from going up under the fairing. I would re-fit them as they go in to position easily.

I think you can get a snap cap in chrome that will snap flat into the mirror holes. Maybe a black plastic snap cover can do.

Those chrome radio valume and station selector switches are a bugger to get back in as deep as the factory did it. First make sure you put the switch is so the 1/2 moon part of the little shaft thingy is the same as the caps 1/2 moon. Then put some lube on the cap hole and start it kinda wiggling it. If you push it hard and fast it will strip some of the nurrald hole and will bind. I pushed mine pretty hard to get it all the way in. It didn't seem to hurt the switch putting pressure on it.

Those chrome volume switches are a real PITA. I used glue after fighting with mine for quite a while. The glue works good.
