Default Thread Locker questions

With my recent oops with striping and then breaking a cam support plate bolt... I figured I should ask a question before I make an assumption and mess it up for me later.

Am I supposed to use thread locker on the cam support plate bolts? The oil pump bolts?

My manual states to use thread locker (red I believe) on the cam sprocket but not the crank sprocket. This right?

And the came cover bolts? Blue lock tight?

Thanks for the info... Im just feeling a little gun shy after this dibocal.

Trust the manual. General rule of thumb, Red needs heat or a lot of torque to loosen. Blue can for the most part be loosened with simple hand tools. In my case I pretty much use blue on evrything that doesn't need red. Lost too much chit

+1 on the Blue for everything that needs to come off again, and yet you want some security.

Red only for where it's called for by the manual or instructions.
