Default Lock tight

Doing cam swap on my 05 roadglide. Read up on it on here and saw alot about blue locktight on cam plate and oil pump bolts can't seem to find that in my manual. Is it recommended to use locktight

Some use it, some don't. Manual states only to torque to spec, 90-120 inch pounds. The bolts in the camplate positions #1 and #2 in the torque sequence, do those at the bottom of the scale (90 inch pounds) so you don't strip them as there is not much for threads on those two because of the dowels.

If you decide to use blue loctite, its loctite 242. I use this stuff all the time for stuff.

i just wish the loctite people would put red loctite in a red squeeze tube, and blue loctite in a blue tube. i guess that would make too much sense. while they're at it, they could do the same with purple and green loctite. it's a conspiracy i tell ya.

Some times when you torque bolts to factory spec's, thread can get distorted. In some cases it is recommended that you replace bolts verses Loctite. If I were going to use original bolts, I would use Loctite.
