Sorry, if this has been fully discussed, but I did a search and couldn't find a good answer. I ride a 2010 Eglide Classic and am not happy with the stock seat. If anyone has or is using the Sundowner on their bike I would appreciate your experience with it.
I know all about Mean City Cycles and may yet go with them, but by the time I figure in all the costs, not just the cost of the rebuild, the Sundowner would wind up being cheaper.
There's tons of posts on Sundowner seats. There's 2 of them for sale on in the classifieds right now.
The guys that are selling them would probably be a great resourse.

Happy Sundowner Owner
Just bought one used off of craigslist last night for $140 dollars. I installed it and rode about 150 miles last night for my test ride. Bike is a 2006 streetglide. I am very pleased. I am 27y/o, 5'7", 140 lbs, with a 31" inseam. I am a small guy so the seat really cups my **** well. I feel like i am sitting in it. it will push you forward and up about an 1" or so. I used this in conjunction with the adjustable rider backrest. I did not get butt burn or near as much pain in my lower back (have back issues from a wreck in 04'). Over all I am very happy. Wife will also enjoy that the rear is about 12" wide. alot better than the standard seat. My local shop actually let me put one on my bike and ride around for a few miles. You may check with your local dealer and see if they will let you test it out for a little bit.
i had a Sundowner on for a while...you kinda sit "in" it instead of on it... if that makes sense to ya??
It is comfortable on longer rides to lean back in... not a huge differance from a stocker
I don't know how much difference you'll experience between a stock Electra Glide seat and the Sundowner, but there's a huge difference from a Road King stock seat and the Sundowner.

What about the stock seat do you not like?
Ive had the Sundowner on my 09 SG. I think its the best seat HD makes, especially for the money. I was very happy with it, but decided to get another Mustang seat, as they are just enough better to me to make it worth it, and the Sundowner is a bit too "bucket" for my liking. Not bad, just a bit. Also, I knew I was going to do some major customizing to the seat, and knowing it was going to be torn into, the Mustangs are built quite a bit heavier duty.
But for the money, I think the Sundowner is a great seat. Especially the 08-up model (passenger section was enlarged quite bit) It will sit you lower than the stock Ultra/Classic seat.
