Question Which tire for two up touring

Yes I searched this subject. But here we go again. I have 1999 Ultra and have always run the stock Dunlops MT90's.Have always gotten along fine. We always ride two up. But we are not big people. But have been reading about the new Michelin commander and the Dunlop elite 3. I still want good wear, although I wouldn't call my stock rear good wear. I would like to know everyones opinion. Would like better ride. Don't want noise or wobble. Thanks

Haven't tried the Michelin but the Elite 3's are awesome. Great treadwear and traction.

Elite 3s are much better than the stock Dunlop 402s.

I only wish that the elite 3's had a small whitewall. Then I would get them over the 402's. Bummer....

+1 to what he said.

I'd like to hear more about the Michelin's though.

Had E3s on my last bike. They had great traction and the most mileage of any others I tried. When the new bike needs new ones I'll probably get E3s again.

The MT is a bit marginal on the rear, so you could consider using an MU, which is a little larger and has a higher load rating. I removed the rubber curtain on the belt guard to get mine in with the stock wide belt. I now have the later narrow belt and a 150/MU rear. I prefer Avon Venoms personally, which are more compliant than Dunlops, give a better quality ride as well as better grip in all conditions.
