Default Slip on/off help

Just picked up a pair of slip on pipes. While the installation seems pretty straight forward, is there a trick to getting the old ones off without messing up the chrome finish or do I just have to muscle them off? Thanx.

Loosen torca clamp. Remove rear bracket bolts. Wiggle back and forth (the muffler, not you). Should slide right off with a little effort.

You can spray a little PB Blaster or WD40 at the joint first and let it sit for a bit, that'll make it need less "elbow grease".

I have also loosened the clamps, started the bike and ran for a few minutes to get them warm and they slip right off. Just need to use a good set of leather gloves to handle the warm pipes.

I've never done it that way, I would assume the inner pipe gets hotter and expands faster, essentially making it tighter. Or I could be way off base, just my thought. I use PB Blaster and wait a few minutes, they usually pop off pretty easy, then there are those that become nightmares, also.

I've actually never used this method on a touring bike. I did however have to use this methond on my 99 Heritage Softail. I couldn't get those slip-ons off to save my @$$. Tried PB blaster, hammer/block of wood, whole nine yards. Started her up for 2 minutes and they slipped right off.
