RE: Ultra: Do you look through the shield or over it?
I started out with the standard 12" windshield, first time I got stuck in a down pour i found out hard hard it was to see the road. Replaced the 12" with the 9 1/2" windshield and now i can look over the top and see in the rain & sun glare.once in a great while a bug "may" clip the top of my helmet, but very rare,I'm happy with the 9 1/2" windshield
RE: Ultra: Do you look through the shield or over it?
I've got the stock windshield that came with the bike. The top edge is at about eye level. I prefer to look over and can simply by raising my chin a bit and rolling my hips a little forward. If something comes flying at me from ahead I can easily take cover by slouching a tad.
RE: Ultra: Do you look through the shield or over it?
Used to have stock 12" and sometimes sat up straight to just see over it, but usually found myself slouched with the edge in line of sight, now have 10" from Fastaire and look over it.
RE: Ultra: Do you look through the shield or over it?
I have an 06 ultra and the stock 12' windshield is to high, I look througt it because I can't see over it, which is not good when it is raining. I purchased the harley 6 1/2" windshield and it was to low so I exchanged it for the 9 1/2" and it is perfect I see over it and it is high enough that I don't get a lot of wind in my face.
RE: Ultra: Do you look through the shield or over it?
most windshield manufacturers and harley-Davidson tell you to pick a shield that is below your field of vision. i hate the image jump looking thur and then over the shield.
RE: Ultra: Do you look through the shield or over it?
Depends on the weather for me, most of the time I look thru the windsheild but I find myself looking over allot also to get that breath of fresh air and wind in the face that I missed feeling from my Super Glide
