96 was the first year for EFI, it has the non upgradable M&M injection. carbed RKs were also made that year. 1997, they changed the ecm so that upgrades could be made for engine mods. I don't know what year they stopped making carbed RKs.

+1 on 09 being sweet spot. Anyone know what years they ran the M&M fuel injection? A lot of guys didn't like the M&M and prefer the Delphi.

You could query AIM. They may have a back issue regarding the RKC.

The smooth profile spoke wheels were new for 2006. 2007 was the last year for the custom ( I think).

Personally, I feel the bikes get better every year until HD put the cats on in 2010.
