I cannot find any opinions on BUB stubbies for a RK. I currently Have Rineharts on my 06 Custom, but they are just too quiet for me. I did find a forum from 04 that kind of mentions the stubbies, but it also mentions that you can expect a nice decrease in performance. I am thinking that may be different today. Also, I cannot fins a PCIII map for stubbies. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
The 2 1/4 ones are plenty loud for me but I imagine the 2 1/2 baffles would be considerably louder. 2 1/4 are stock, I got my Rineharts from www.directparts.com and when I talked to them about baffles I think the replacements were about $50 ea. Hope this helps.
Called BUB, and found that they do not sell the 2 1/2 baffles for the RH system. There are sites that have part numbers because BUB was going ot have them, btu they found it reduced performance, and are working on a new design...I guess I am still stuck with my original question regarding the stubbies...Cannot find any input on them anywhere at this point.
I was thinking about getting them, but I can foresee three negatives: 1) a serious decrease in off the line power unless you put an after burner on it 2) really, really loud over the long haul and 3) one perpetually nasty underside on the right bag.
I was thinking that also. I did not realize their would be that much of a power decrease though. Also, I figured since the exhaust was pointing down, it may not hurt the bag...I do think it would sound great though!!! I am really caught up in what to do. Currently, I have the RH Slip-Ons. I am either going to but the rest of the RH exhaus, and make it full (about 400.00) or buy the stubbies full exhaust (314.00). A friend of mine bought the slip-ons at the same time, and then purchased the rest of the system, however, it is only a tad louder, not even noticeable. THeo nly benefit I see is that it wil get the exhaust out of each pipe evenly instead ot making my one Rinehart tip purple.....
Yes, the downfall of the crossover! One thing you could do is to swap the slip ons. I know it's cheap (me in a nutshell), but at least it will even your colors up some!
I have one new tip already becuase Rinehart replaced one from the time of purchase because one was scratched. So I do have a new one in the bag, but I am not putting that on cause it will get ruined. Either I am purchasing the rest of the Rinehart system, or the stubbies.....That is my toss up right now....If I go with the Stubbies, I put my RH slip-ons on e-bay, and be done with it....Very confused :-(
