If she got on first I'd end up kicking her in the funbags! I get on first and stand the bike up, then she gets on. In other words, I get it erect, then she straddles it, she gets off first. I'm too old to get off first!
First she places her left leg onto my right shoulder. Then she places her right leg onto my left shoulder. This method works best if she is wearing only her chaps. Makes it impossible to see where I'm going, but at least she's in a good position to see if any cops are behind us and my ears stay nice and warm.
Having a wife whom is verticlly challanged, I straighten the front wheel, hold the handlebar and put a foot on the jiffy stand. This allows her to swing a leg over the passenger seat and slide onto the driver seat, then scoot back till the sissy bar stops her. Then I climb on board the driver's area and then stand the motorcycle into the upright position, with a little lean by wife.
Depends on which stand I use. Center stand she can get on 1st or 2nd doesn't matter, then just ride off. Jiffy stand, me 1st, center the bike, then she gets on.
Hey all, newbie here. I'm going to be buying an RKC soon and it's going to have to have a driver backrest(bad back) as well as a passenger backrest. Any issues with leaving the driver rest in while Momma's climbing aboard?

Either way you go, mount or dismount ...discuss and do it the same every time...I know variety is the spice of life...But in this case, it may be the difference between a safe entrance or exit verses...my wife did a half gainer with a half twist...broke both bones in her arm, resulting in a plate and screws...We've rode together for years..It happens folks. She will heal, shes a tough cuss..Still ridin by the way, 250 miles the next day. Just develope a routine and stick with it, these things can be ungangly sometimes...Ride safe, Scooter

BDL, I'd suggest the Mustang rider backrest. It folds (forward) out of the way better than HD IMO (I've had both). I'm on first and before she gets on, I fold the rider backrest forward to me. She gets on and the last thing she does is pull the rider back rest back towards her into position before I try to sit. Trust me...she'll forget that step a time or two
