I'm looking at the Samson True Dual Crossover Head Pipes w/ 2 1/4" Heat shields and 4" Mufflers for my e-glide. I want to get around the cat issue and the heat coming off the rear cylinder. Anyone know about these headers and mufflers?

i have the true duals and they were easy to put on and so far i am pleased with them, the only downfall is where the header and my muffler join the muffler has turned gold, word on the street is they use thin walled steel and its inevidable

When I had my Softail I had several different Samson exhaust on it. I loved the sound and especially the looks. However, the chrome was less than spectacular and one set of pipes, a Big Guns model, completely cracked through where the pipe expanded a short distance from the head.
I have heard the quality is better these days. I sure hope so because Samson has some of the coolest looking pipes out there. I wanted bad to put a set of their slip on fishtail mufflers on my bike but I feared they would just discolor with the hotter running 96" engine. Instead I went to V&H simply because they use nearly full coverage heat shields which hides any blueing.

we have made some small changes with our mufflers which help prevent discoloration so that issue has been resolved. you choice of mufflers is a good one. V&H make a great product.
