I now know exactly how much fuel my 06' E-Glide will hold. 5.1gal. to the bottom of the filler neck on the side stand.
I was holding steady coming into work this morning when all of a sudden.....I was out of fuel. It fell flat just seconds after it coughed for the first time. Lucky for me their was a service station in sight, now if I could just make it there. I got one more blip out of the throttle and coasted in. It would have died in the road if I had to wait for traffic before turning left into the station.
Whew!
Put 5.2 in mine before..............coasted into the gas station.
At least I know my gauge is accurate, and the idiot light works correctly.
Steve
H'mmm, now you know why they call it an "idiot" light !
P.s. There is no premium gas between Sturgis SD and Pierre SD on # 34/ Hwy 14, a distance of 174 miles. And the one station just east of Sturgis on 34 selling regular closes early. Ask me how this idiot knows.....
Sad part was that My light came on as usual, right at 160 mile mark, but I only got 177 mile out of this tank. It should have taken just over four gallons.
I believe this is the worst millage I have gotten out of it. We have been enduring a couple of hundred degree days, so this and a quick wrist might have something to do with that! Wind Chill!
LMAO
