I may be wrong here but cfr's are very open and can get pretty loud on their own,if you install big city baffles instead of hearing you from a mile away they'll hear you from 5 miles.Now they do have the baffles that install at the head instead of the actuall tail pipe,no experience there though.
After installing my V&H True Duals, the sound of my CFRs got much louder and I think they lost a little bit of their awesome deep tone. If I open above 3,000rpm in low gears (1-3) they bark big time. Not as bad as the debaffled Big Radius I had on my chopper but close!
I think I'm gonna try to tone then down a bit. I asked Big City about the baffles that mount at the end of the headers. What bothers me is that I'm gonna have to drill holes in the headers to mount them, something I'm not too thrilled to do.
Do you know of another solution to make the CFRs a tad quieter?

In fact the deep tone is still there but for whatever reason, the pipes resonate more, and they sound more hollow than before. Kinda weird.

Maybe some useful information to others, I just got off the phone with CFR. Told them I was looking for their true dual header, told me it is backordered two months. GREAT!
