Ok I am in the middle of my 3000mi trip to Myrtle beach and my front tire has gone bad it separated the tread like a retread. It only had about 7000mi on it is going to cost me $200 just for the tire at the local Harley dealer not even mounted. It is a Dunlop e3 120/70/21 has anyone had any problems like this? The scary thing is that on tuesday I did the devils triangle & the tail of the dragon.
You have internet access. Contact Dunlop & see what they say. Also, take pictures & ship the defective tire to your home. Keep *all* receipts for repairs/replacement & talk it over with Dunlop after your trip. All manufacturers have problems. It doesn't make any difference if someone here has had a similar problem or not. Dunlop is a good company & will probably work with you if you approach them in a calm, rational manor. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
I believe Dunlop may help you out on this, although fairly pro-rated. I've seen a few Dunlops do this but they were all in EXTREME conditions, mostly desert and very high temps.
I am going to send the tire home with my family I met them here in Myrtle beach I had to work couldn't come when they did and I have to leave before they do for work. I am keeping all the receipts. the tire never lost air. The only way I found it I was cleaning off the road grime and inspecting the bike after my trip & fixing some issues that came up on the trip. I will deal with it all when I get home. I'm just glad I found it before I left for home next week.

Sorry for your troubles....
Even if we think everything is going ok, inspecting your scoot regularly is smartest thing we can do.
As said earlier, contact Dunlop and though they may not help you 100%, it doesn't hurt to ask.
On Monday I installed a new Limited wheel with new tire on the rear of my 09.The original tire had 14000kms(8700miles),it had lots of tread left on it,probably another 6-7000kms,but I was surprised to feel that it was scalloped, not severely but noticible.I run 40psi in the rear and check it regularly.Has any one else noticed this?
Dunlop might want to see your tire just to see whether or not they may have a potential problem with this particular model of tire. A front motorcycle tire coming apart is NOT a good thing to have happen.
