I get the same noise from time to time. I spray my rubbers and metal hangers with silicone spray whenever it starts to squeek, usually lasts several months before the squeez returns.

Our rubber mounted V-Twins are bouncing in the front of the frame, the exhaust is mounted to the engine and tranny bouncing in the frame then rigid mounted to the bottom of the bag rails through a rubber isolator. a Little lubrication will always help your sticking rubbers....

The fix with the V & H MO's is to reverse the rubber isolators. I had the same issues when I ran those, reversed them and they never moved afterward. Also sprayed them every few months with some spray silicone.

I had the same problem with the left side on my monster ovals. I took a small stainless hose clamp and clamped it around the rubber grommet and the metal hangar and tightened it down. Problem solved for over 2 years now and 25K miles, no more squeak.

My 2003 EG uses PN 65724-85 for the rubber grommets. I think it's the same for yours. You can always check for PN's using the parts finder on Ronnie's Harley-Davidson at http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson...partfinder.htm

Or go really top shelf with these.

Hope this helps...

mine wear out about every 2 years, if you grab the muffler and it will move from side to side its time to replace them, the little metal bar wears the rubber out from the vibration you can spray all you want but when the film wears off the noise will come back, they are a few bucks at the dealer and take about 5 min to change

I too used silicone grease and they've been quiet for about 2 years and counting.

Default Grommet

I have a 2007 Road King and the left one squeaks.I have tried silicone spray and Rem oil and it only last a short time.I can wiggle it to the point of making it clunk.Maybe a good winter project.
